Keeping your commercial vehicle downtime to a minimum

We know that time is of the essence for businesses. The longer a commercial vehicle is out of action, the more money and business you lose. We understand that you need to be back up and running as soon as possible.

Getting commercial vehicles back on the road is what we excel at. As we stock most commercial car, van and lorry windscreens, we can deliver high-quality replacements quickly and efficiently. As we don’t have to order the product in and wait for delivery, vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum, resolving your problem quickly.

For your convenience, we can conduct most repairs on-site. All of our mobile workshops are fully equipped with the latest glazing systems to replace/repair commercial vehicle windscreens and glazed windows there and then, if possible.

In some cases, we offer a same day service. This ensures you’re back behind the wheel in a smooth and timely fashion, getting on with the rest of your day. So when in need, Plant Glazing Ltd are on hand to help, just give us a call.

Commercial stone chip repairs

Stone chips are common and result from the general wear and tear of driving. Although they may initially seem small and inconsequential, they worsen the longer you leave them, especially in adverse weather conditions. That’s why it’s crucial to get them repaired as soon as possible, as they can develop into a health and safety hazard that may require more costly solutions. Our team are happy to help in anyway way we can to get you up and running again; the typical process includes:

  • In the first instance, we always work to repair your windscreen rather than replace it.

Our technician will carefully examine the chip to evaluate whether a repair is possible. The maximum size that can be restored is about the size of a £2 coin, but it also depends on where the chip is located, for instance, in the direct line of sight.
  • For repairs, we use resin injection for the most efficient results.

If the chip can be repaired, the technician will inject an acrylic resin, optically matched to your windscreen glass, into the damaged area. This is then cured using UV light.
  • Final checks, then you're on your way.

The resulting repaired area will be as strong and clear as the original glass; you won’t be able to tell the difference.

Many kinds of windscreen stone damage can be repaired successfully without removing the glass in as little as 20 minutes. With our reputation for reaching our customers promptly, you’ll be back on the road in no time.

Our technicians specialise in providing the best windscreen services for all vehicles (including coaches, classic cars and boats), and we guarantee you won't find the same level of service elsewhere. We pride ourselves on our customer focussed approach and look forward to solving your issue with minimal fuss.
